Sonic Crackers Oddities
Important Facts 1. Sonic Crackers is not Sonic 4! S&K is the real Sonic 4. 2. This "game" is not a hoax Preface Sonic Crackers perhaps deserves the title of the most unusual sonic game. Not only was the release date the 1st April 1994 (or possibly 4th January), but it has a totally unique engine, and level texture style. There are many ideas surrounding this game. The first being that it was simply a BETA of Knuckles Chaotix, Second that it was a prototype engine, and third that it was a trick pulled by SEGA. I happen to like the third theory, and it was written by Pelord on the website Sonic Classic. Th etheory is simply that, at the time when SEGA were talking about Sonic The Hedgehog 4, the game would feature Lock-On technology. Noone knew what lock on technology was, however if someone came across this game they would think that it was the link connecting Sonic and Tails, and it was simply an April Fool by SEGA to get back at the people who dumped the Sonic 2 BETA Cart. Or perhaps it was a fangame released long after Knuckles Chaotix? There is no doubt about it, Sonic Crackers is the most overlooked game in the Sonic Series. |
